Spring is Finally Here!

I know I have been MIA for a few weeks. There are not enough hours in the day to do all that I need to do. So therefore, my blogging has taken a back seat to everything else.

So, last weekend, we had a huge yard sale on Sat & Sun and the preparation took the whole week. Every minute that I was not working at the Sweet Boutique, I was cleaning everything, organizing it, pricing it, putting up tents and banners in the yard, and causing a lot of excitement in the neighborhood for the big sale, and it all took hours and hours of preparation. The sale was a big success and it was really hard to let it go, but I did get rid of a lot of my precious things. I just have an overload of stuff and I need more room, and that's the main reason I decided to do the yard sale. It was really hot during the sale (90's, a fluky thing, we're totally not used to it!), but it was fun and we had a good time. (And made some money.) By contrast, it is 56 degrees today.

I hope to buy a swing for my back yard with the money. I can't wait to start looking for it. I'll show pictures when I get it. The good part is, the thing to hang it on is already there. I've always had a swing back there until it totally broke 2 yrs ago and I said I would build one....but, it never got done! So now, I decided that I will just buy one instead.

So, I ran outside today, in the rain, and took some pictures of my flowers. As I said, spring is finally here and I am loving it. Today, I worked outside for about 3 hours with sprinkles on my back, and I loved it until it really started raining hard and I had to come in. By then my back was aching, so it was a good time to stop.

So here are some of the pictures that I took:

I love tulips, even though they are not as long lived as I would like them to be.

A closeup of some fuchsia colored ones:

My sweet cherry tree, it has the most delicious, sweet cherries, if I can beat the birds to them......

I love the wild violets and let them reseed in my yard. If they are in the wrong spot, I just pull them out.

A Closeup, you can see the raindrops on the flowers.

These are the flowers on my Pieris Japonica. I love that!

A big bunch of Phlox that is in the front foundation border.

This is a whiskey barrel that I have out front. I planted it with cool weather plants, until it's time for the annuals to go out.

Another patch of white Phlox. I love this and I have quite a bit of it around the yard. It smells delicious!

That's all for today. I will be showing more as the garden progresses.
'Til next time, Love ya, Jean

Beautiful pics of your flowers...they're gorgeous!

Hello Jean~ Isn't it wonderful to finally have spring in our midst.
It's even worth the alergies to have the beauty of springtime blooms. The colors in your photos were breathtaking.

I need to organize (key word) my inventory and have a huge sale too. I've got a guest bedroom filled to the ceiling with craft supplies that somehow needs to be emptied to accommodate summer guests, YIKES!!
Sweet wishes,
Sara
