Update-Getting Better.........

Dusty had his stitches taken out today. He is doing pretty good. He is off the pain medication, but still has to take the antibiotics for 4 more days. He is eating, drinking water, and going to the bathroom now. He still has some soreness because when he walks, he holds his back end over to the side and stops to grab his tail. I think it'll just take some time for him to get all better. For now, he's 100% more comfortable than he has been for the last two weeks. We're getting there. Thank you, everyone, for your sweet comments and concern for Dusty. We love him so much and it's very hard to see him in pain and not feeling well. We are happy to see the little signs that he is on the mend. For instance, he slept on my bed last night and we played "lick and tickle" this morning. It's our way of saying, "Good morning". So, for now, we just need to be patient and before we know it, he'll be good as new.
'Til next time, Love ya, Jean

Yay! What awesome news for you! Last March we found out that our cat, Fluffy had Feline Leukemia. We were heartbroken. We had her on three different kinds of medication for 10 days and she was completely well after that! I remember the first time she attacked my feet in bed, it was 4:30 in the morning and I got up and jumped up and down, lol!

She is still kickin, and as spunky as ever:)

Blessings,
Cara

My cat has had a cyst on her tail that her vet has drained, but it's growing back...my fear is her needing surgery too. She's so old I worry about her going through the surgery. Dusty's recovery has alleviated my anxiety. Eating even a little will enable him to gain strength every day. Plus all the love, hugs and kisses I'm sure he's been given, that's the best prescription yet!!

Sweet wishes,
Sara

That's a nice way to start my weekend to see that Dusty is getting better. He is looking much perkier in the photo. Thank you for your lovely comment about Barnie. He will be much missed by the whole family.

Don't you just love those lick and tickle mornings. I have three dogs that greet me every morning in the bed with lots of loving. I'm so glad Dusty is feeling better... he is such a cutie!

Hello- just stopped by from PenPen's blog when I saw your sweet Dusty on the blog-roll. We have a ShihTzu as well, Braxton, who was preceded by Charlie, another darling ShihTzu that reminds me so much of your Dusty. Aren't the just the very best?! Here's sending up prayers for you little guy and hopefully, he'll be back to full speed in no time :-).

Jean,
So glad that Dusty is getting better. It is so hard. But it sounds like this is a temporary slow down for him. We love our pets so much we almost feel their pain!
Hugs, Sandy
