New thrift store in town....

I met two of my friends for lunch today and as we are sitting outside Panera Bread, we were talking and somehow..... the subject of a new thrift shop came up. We were within walking distance and decided to go over there.
It's called "Savers". This is a F.B Rogers Silver Co. silverplated tray that I bought. I've been wanting one and this one was waiting for me on the shelf! At $3.99 I couldn't pass it up.

I also found 3 of the little shell boxes, and since I have a beach theme on my mantle, they really fit into my decorating theme. Here are some of the things that I have on there.....

Shells, sand castles, the shell covered boxes, shell jewelry,

retro sunglasses....

I love them all and wish I lived near the beach. Well, I can drive about 50 miles to the nearest beach and the ocean is only 20 miles east of me, so I quess you could say I live near the ocean. I really want it out my back door though. hehe

This is my new chair, it finally arrived....It's very big, I think it's called a chair and a half. It's great to sit in and read.

These are all the things I got at the thrift shop.....
The little lamp is going on the table next to the chair......they didn't have a shade for it, but I saw one a Walmart that will be perfect for it. The lace is a window valance but I can use it on the mantle for a scarf. I think it'll look great when I have my teacups up there. The little shell boxes are there, also. All this for $17.00! I think I will be going there frequently.

Another one of my baby quilts......So far, I've made 22.....

So, this is what I've been doing. Oh, also working outside in my garden. It's been so hot and dry here that my flowers are all finished. I've been going out to work in my garden for short periods of time in the mornings when it's cooler.
'Til next time, Love ya, Jean

What pretty treasures you found, & your chair is lovely.

I LOVE Panera's ... hubby doesn't care for it ... that's why hubby gets left home more often when going to town.

Have a lovely summer's eve ~

Jean, I love your new chair. It looks so comfy!

The silver tray also catches my eye. You can never really have too many trays.

Have a wonderful day!

Jean~ your baby quilts amaze me, all the fine attention to details. It's clear you put a very personal investment into your quilts.
Looks like you found a few treasures at the new thrift store.
It nice having seashells in our midst, they're little reminders of our special place... at the beach.
Hope you're having a great summer!
Sweet wishes,
Sara

Thankyou for posting on my blog Jean. When I saw your shells I just had to tell you about mine.I bought a huge amount of the tiniest shells.I used to make a lot of miniature fish, including fish counters.I would put shells on the counters. When I bought them I had to buy by weight. What fun I had when I spread them out on a tray to sort out the smallest ones as I found many 'treasures'.Because the shells are too small to sort out individually, apparently they would be scooped up from beaches,I would find many unusual ones. Some are so tiny it is unbelievable.I was told that because of conservation these shells are no longer available for purchase so I am so pleased that I have these.I sell them when I exhibit at Miniatura(NEC Birmingham UK).I once sold out of all I had taken by someone who wanted them for jewellery making but they are mostly used in miniature projects.Carol:)
