Composting in winter...

My indoor composter...
It has a filter in the top,
so that it doesn't smell.

So cute!

Quilts...

I have been working on some quilts the last few days...
These blocks are going into my "postage stamp" quilt.
This is an ongoing project,
and I work on it from time to time.
No rush on this one.

I'm working on blocks,  9 1/2" square...

Each little square is 2" and is 1 1/2" after they are sewn together.

I'm also working on some baby quilts at the same time.
This one is for a girl...

And I made some boy blocks yesterday.
I hope to get these blocks put together today.

I have 4 girl and 2 boy quilts this time.
I'll show them when they are all finished.
Now it's time to get busy sewing...

Wintertime Roses...

I seem to favor pink roses...
Yes,  they are my favorite...
I have a couple of pink rose bushes in my yard
and I love them...

I love this little arrangement...
So pretty...

Just looking at them, warms my heart,

on a cold winter day!

I have no snow pictures,  'cause the storm went right by us.  I am glad.  Rain tomorrow to melt the little bit of snow that we do have.  Love that!

Vignettes...

I was fooling around with my camera this morning...

Is the cookbook old or what?
I bought that in 1964.  I still use a few recipes from it...

.

A lot of my stuff is old.
I tend to hang on to my stuff for a long time.

Let it snow!

We got a little snow yesterday...
about 4 inches...
Made me want to make some pillows or something...
Aren't they adorable!
I found these on the internet...
Sorry,  I don't know who they are made by...

Just some inspiration for me to get busy...

Tea...

Interesting Chai teas that I received for Christmas...
These are little round tea bags...
They are delicious...
I highly recommend them...
They were purchased at World Market,
if you have one near you.

I also received this cute little teapot...
You can use it for loose tea or put the bags in the cylinder...

And I use my microwave potholder to help keep it warm!!!

Microwave cozies...

What is this?  you ask...

It is a Microwave Cozy~~

You know how when you take a bowl of stuff from the microwave oven and it is so hot you can't touch it?  This solves the problem!  You actually put your bowl of food in here
before you start heating it.
When it all comes out,  it's your pot holder...
err...bowl holder~ haha

Clever?  I think so!

This is the only one I have made so far--  but I plan on making more in the future.

This protects your hands from getting burned by the hot bowl.

There is a great tutorial on how to make this HERE.  I want to give credit to Karen of Syzygy of Me for producing the tute.

They can be sized to fit your bowls.  I also saw that my little glass teapot fits into it just right, so I'll use it to keep my tea warm,  also.

This is a fun little project that is easy and quick to make.  A set of these would make a great gift.  It does have some limitations though.  Please read all the instructions before starting to make this.

I hope you enjoy making this microwave cozy.  It is practical and cute at the same time!
