Garden goodies...

My geraniums this summer...
I saved these from last year...

They are so pretty...

I added this lettuce to my planter to fill in the space
when the flowers were small...

Some of my tomatoes are finally ripening...
Lots more out there...
They are so delicious!

The weather is still very hot,  making it so hard to garden,  The next 5 days will be in the 90's here.

I've been staying inside a lot...
watching TV,  reading and cleaning.  Not very exciting,  for sure.  Can't wait for cooler weather to arrive!

I have been walking in the early morning for about an hour every day.  I enjoy that!  It's cool and relatively quiet.  I hook up my Ipod and off I go.  I have walked (a few weeks ago) 1,862 miles,  the length of Japan.  81,000 steps last week.  My goal is 10,000 steps a day.  I use the FitBit Flex to track my steps.  I really like it.  It's a good incentive to keep motivated and I highly recommend it.

'Til next time,  Love ya,  Jean

Hi Jean, Good for you on the Walking! My blog friend Arlene at Nanaland blog wears the Fitbit too. I think all of us are looking forward to fall temps. It's too hot/humid to work in the yard for very long. Your geraniums are gorgeous; great that you could save them from last year. Oh, those tomatoes look good! Have a great weekend.

I love geraniums. How did you save yours? I have some in pots, but buy them new each year.

Love your geraniums. I left my pansies in the window boxes all summer and they didn't do too bad. I had to rid myself of them two weeks ago. Time for mums... Summer was hot but not looking forward to the cold weather though. You are amazing with your step program. You are an incentive for sure. If I walk that much I don't have the energy to do much else though. I do need to get on a regime of some sort though, my weight is terrible. Love ya, LJ

Hi Betty, I have a very nice neighbor who has a basement and she kept the geraniums for me. I cut them way back, we put them down there near a window and she watered them once a month for me. They looked pretty bad when I got them back, but I potted them up with fresh potting soil, put them outside when the weather warmed up and they just grew like crazy. They really had lots and lots of blooms this year. I always fertilize them with a liquid fertilizer once a week. I just can't throw good plants away!

Hi Mildred, good to hear from you. Our Spring was very cold and then all of a sudden very hot. We have had a drought since early June. Still in it.Today it is 94 degrees again. I am praying for rain and cooler temps. I could never live down South! Love my FitBit!

Hi Lady Jane! Wish I could drag you out with me to walk!!!! Love you guys...Jean
