Spring Fever?

I've been craving flowers lately...

So I bought some today... 

and made this arrangement for my 

dining room table.

I am trying to be patient... 

waiting for Spring and the gardening season!

(I even polished the silver!)

Here is a closeup...

It helps a little.  In the meantime,  I am sewing,  doing some painting,  changing my curtains and drapes and sprucing the place up a bit.  I'm liking the changes!

Party Time...

My daughter had a surprise birthday party 

for her husband on Saturday night.  

It was his 50th.,  so it was a special one.

There were about 80 people at the party.

I had the honor of making the cake.

I just do this for my family.

I took some Wilton courses a few years ago,

and enjoy making them.

So here is the cake.....

So I brought the cake in pieces before the party...

and put it together there.

This layer was 12" x 18", 

and it was half yellow and half marble cake.

The cupcake bottom and top were both chocolate cake...

Trick candles...

but he knew...   haha

I think it came out pretty cute...

and it was delicious!

I love these opportunities to express my creativity...

I'm just waiting for the next one to come along!

Love...

I'm getting ready for St. Valentine's Day...

Made these hearts from fabric 

from my scrap containers yesterday.  

They have some lavender inside 

and some polyfil to puff them up a bit.

 I got a bunch of ribbons and tied them all together 

and hung the hearts from them.

Some of the other things 

that I have collected from around my house.

Valentine's Day is always fun at my house!
