Happy Thanksgiving!

I am wishing you the very best
Thanksgiving that you have ever had...

The turkey will be waiting...

And lots of appetizers,  too!
(and desserts,  don't forget the desserts!)
And of course,
all the traditional dishes that go along with it!
I am so thankful for the all that I have
and I am wishing the best for you,  too!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Poppy Fashion Show...

I may have shown some
of these pieces previously.
If so,  please bear with me...

Today,  Poppy has decided to show you
some of her sweater sets...

I recently purchased the
Headwarmer pattern
 also.

The pattern was so easy to follow
and it worked up very quickly.

This set is not quite finished yet.
It still needs buttons,  decorations,
and needs to be blocked to make it lie flat.
I made the hat on my own.

This set needs buttons and blocking.

I made this red dress below last winter.
 I found the pattern online,
but I don't know who created it.
I made the hat on my own.

This is a pattern that I followed
for a newborn preemie baby.
It is so small,  I think it will become
 a Christmas Tree ornament!
Sure is cute!

I hope you liked Poppy's new clothing.
Oh,  and Poppy is a 13" Maru and Friends Doll.
I have another on preorder.  Her name is Chloe and
I am patiently waiting for her to arrive.
So Poppy will have a new sister
and friend.  She is supposed to arrive
around Thanksgiving.  Can't wait!

That's all for today.

Until next time,  Love ya,  Jean

Another scrappy lap quilt...

Halloween actually turned out okay here. We had the threat of EEE virus and they said if we didn't get a killing frost that would kill the mosquitoes,  Halloween would be cancelled.  We didn't get the frost but, we had rain for a whole week. The rain did let up on Halloween evening for a few hours,  so the kids were out in full force.  Because of the rain,  we didn't do our regular thing with the decorations and all.  It was disappointing for us,  but hopefully we will be able to do it next year.

Now that Halloween is over,  I did a little sewing.  I actually made this string quilt a while back.  I didn't like the sashing I had used on it.  I ripped that off  and used a different fabric on it.  I like it now and will see if any of the family wants it or if I'll donate it.  I love making these little lap quilts.  They go pretty fast and I can use up some of my scraps that I get from some of my other sewing projects.

I love all the bright colors of these Scrappy string quilts.

Somehow,  my stash of fabrics never goes down though,  but I am working on it!  haha

That's it for today,  so...

Halloween Costumes...

I got my girls all dressed for Halloween...

First is Molly,  as the Pink Princess.

Sadie is a BumbleBee...

Mindy is all dressed up as a Rainbow Unicorn.

Miss LadyBug,  Zoey...

Here we have Evalani as a Dark Witch...

And here is Poppy in her Mermaid costume...

They are so excited to celebrate Halloween
and to show off their costumes.
They will have to wait a little bit longer.
Not many tricks from them,
and they will love the treats!
So much fun!

Baby things...

I have a great grandson due at any moment...
His name is Grayson Edward...
I made some bibs for him...
I also made some PeePee Tepees,
(no further explanation needed),  haha, for him...

I also have a great granddaughter due January 2nd...
so I made some headbands for her.
Her name is Everleigh May...

And here are her bibs...
I used flannel for all the items,
it is very absorbent and so soft.

This is an exciting time for our family.
We can't wait for the babies to arrive.
I'll keep you posted of their arrivals.

Garden Pics...

Some pictures from my garden...  August 15,  2019
(Click on the picture to enlarge and get a closer look.)

It is breathtaking this year and the pictures do not do it justice.  I am happy to share the beauty with my neighbors and visitors.  I have so many people tell me how much they enjoy either walking by or driving by and some even stop to tell me that it is so pretty.  I enjoy all the work involved in making it this way.  And I love all the little surprises that I find also.  For instance,  I found that weeds actually help to mulch the soil and keep it from drying out.  I had a lot of them this year,  thanks to all the heat we have had this summer.  I have replaced a lot of them (the weeds and grasses) with real bark mulch,  now that the temperatures have gotten back to the 80's where they belong.  I love being out there,  working,  sweating,  whatever.  It will be gone all too soon,  as the temperatures start getting cooler  and Fall and Winter set in!  And so the cycle continues...

Hi,  I'm Mindy...
My Mom just made me a new jumpsuit.
I really like it!

I took my little doggie
and we went outside for a while today.
Her name is Gund...
I also put on my summer sandals
and my little pony bracelet.
It was fun to go outside.

that we go outside.

Bunnies...

This little guy or gal lives under my shed...
It is so cute...
There are lots of them in my neighborhood!

This is what it loves to eat!

This is how it used to look!
But it's okay!
Just one of God's little creatures
living on this beautiful Earth!
They have to live,  too!
I love them all!

Irises and other bloomers...

Asiatic Lily...
new this year...
Unfortunately,
the blooms did not last very long...
It will probably be longer next year
once it gets established!

Decorated for Memorial Day and July 4th...

This Iris smells just like grape KoolAid...

This is the patch of the above Iris...
Smells so good!

This one is a bicolor...
Given to me by a friend...

An old-fashioned bicolor
that is about 50 yrs old...
Also given to me by a neighbor...

This one is very unusual...
Given to me by my daughter...
Very beautiful...

Another 50 yr old bicolor...

Closeup of the purple bicolor...

This is a Siberian Iris...
Also very beautiful...

I love them all
and love to walk through my garden
and just enjoy the beauty of it all!
Or even work out there!
God has been very good to me
and I am very thankful for that!
May you all have a very wonderful week.
