Henry Mouse

I made this mouse for the pumpkin house.
Unfortunately,  it turned out to be way too big.
So I decided to give him to my Great Grandson as
one of his Christmas gifts.
I named him "Henry".
He is made with aluminum foil,
masking tape,  and paper towels.
His "fur" is acrylic yarn.
He was fun to make...

Just wanted to show him off...

My Pumpkin House...

This is my latest crafting project.  It was fun to make it.  It is made from aluminum foil,  masking tape,  and paper towels soaked in white glue.  A lot of the features are made from cardboard and paper egg cartons.  There is no wood in the construction of it, a little in the accessories.  I saw this on a YouTube channel called "Where the Gnomes Live" and could hardly wait to try it.  So here are some pictures...

This is an arbor that is made from layers of cardboard...

The front door and steps with a little fairy...

Mushrooms are made with translucent polymer clay...

Inside showing the fireplace, floor and a basket of firewood...

Stairs and front door inside.

Chimney and side of house.
It is made with aluminum foil and
covered with paper towels and egg carton...

Fencing,  wood shed,  apple bucket...

Closeup of wood shed.
The roof is made with cardboard
that I peeled the top layer off of...
Stepping stones are torn egg carton...

A shot of the window roof and the front door roof...

The whole thing sits on 4 layers of foam core,
so it is very light and strong...
On the right side you can see the mail box,
and the little pond that I made there in the corner.

This was a fun project to do,  and I loved making it!  We used it as our Thanksgiving centerpiece.  I still have to make a little bit of furniture for it.  That will be one of my next projects after the holidays.  For now,  I have to get ready for Christmas!  That's always fun,  too!

My moss gardens...

I have used my Bonsai dishes that I found on the curb during the summer.  I decided not to make a real Bonsai with a tree because I didn't feel that I had room for them.  I can't leave them outside during the winter,  as it gets too cold her for them.So I had this brilliant idea to fill them with potting mix and put some moss on top.  I guess you could call it a "moss garden".  Anyway,  this is about 3 months after I did this.  I have them inside on my plant stand now and they are doing great!  All the greenery that you see has grown from the moss and the little trees grew on their own also.  I have been watering them every other day and so far they are thriving.  And I keep on getting new little surprises every now and then as new plants pop up.  I bought the little brown one for a little plant that I got from the garden center.  Unfortunately,  I couldn't keep it watered and it succumbed.  I had the little deer and the mushrooms from a fairy garden that my daughter gave to me,  so I just relocated them to their new homes.  I love how they turned out and I hope I can keep them growing until I can put them back outside in the Spring.

Did I say that I love my little "Moss Gardens"?

Have a happy day!

Odds and Ends

A few things from my little world...

Autumn Joy Sedum is turning a bronze color.
So Pretty!

I'm working on another Postage Stamp Quilt...
2" squares...

Sisters...

Such a beautiful little face.
This is Jamie...

C'mon Poppy,  let's play Hopscotch!

Nothing exciting going on here.  Just keeping busy with gardening and sewing.  The weather has been gorgeous,  so I am walking almost every day,  too.  Feels so good!  That's all for today.

Fall Garden Pictures

The pink plants are Autumn Joy Sedum...
Very reliable bloomers,  very drought tolerant...
Very easy to propagate...
And the bees love them,  too!
Beautiful!

Below is a new Dogwood tree that I put in this year.

Below is a Canna.
It is in the stream that goes down to the pond.
I use it to hide the pipe from the whiskey barrel filter.
Who knew that they could live in water...
 and it loves it there.

Now that Fall is here,  my gardens will soon be put to sleep 'til next Spring.  I'm hoping for a mild Winter here in New England.  Heavens knows that we deserve a break from all the craziness of the last 6 months!  I am praying for some relief from the Corona virus and for all that have been affected by it!  God bless us all!

Garden Pictures...

A few pictures that I took about a week ago...

Dang!  they keep changing things on Blogger.
Not sure where to find things these days.
Apparently,  they feel that they need to hide stuff
that we need to use to make a post!

That's all for today!

The backyard collection...

The backyard stuff...

I repainted this sign yesterday.
It had fallen apart and was not readable.
 I like it now...

The flowers add the finishing touch.

As you can see,  I like whimsy...

Some babies that I am growing on...

A little spot for my
great grandson to play trucks...

Another cutie...

These are just a few of what is blooming out there.
I will show more later on...
