My daughter has always loved horses and riding them. She had riding lessons for many years, worked in a stable for many more years and was even on the Equestrian team in college. It has been her dream to own her own horse.
She collected many of the Breyer Collectible horses over the years and has them displayed in her home. So last fall I was in a consignment shop and I spotted a model Breyer horse, purchased it and I thought, "I will give this to her for Christmas". Then, the more I thought about it, I decided it needed a home. So then I decided to build a stable and make it for her birthday instead, which was on April 24. (Easter, this year.) I started working on the project in the middle of January. I couldn't show this from the beginning, obviously, she may read the blog and see it, so I will show the progress over the next few posts. And this is the reason for not blogging much over the last few months.
So, here is what I started with...
This became the first floor of the stable and I built it up from there...
