The Final Season...

My Honey brought this home for me the other day...

Needless to say,  I watched it immediately!
Well,  I savored the very last episode,  'cause I really didn't want it to end.

Hellebores...

Taaa-Daaaa...

The first blossoms in my 2016 garden...

Hellebores are wonderful.  They start to flower in the middle of winter and the flowers last a few months.  It is nice to see them blooming when everything else is still asleep.  These flowers are not quite open today.  It depends on the temperature.  It's about 35 degrees today.  When it is warmer,  they open up more.

This one is Helleborus 'Pink Frost'.

It is nice because it has a unique silver evergreen 
foliage, which provides a year round interest.

And so it goes...

still about 5 weeks 'til Spring is officially here.  I'm having a hard time waiting... me and everyone else!

Organizing...

I rescued this box from the recycle bin the other day...

I glued the end flaps inside the box...

I covered it with some pretty scrap book paper...

And now it holds the cake board paper rolls 

and some other papers that I use for baking...

 I got really tired of them all rolling around when I wanted to pull one out to use it.  

I hope to make more soon,  but it takes a long time to use that many cans of peas.  Oh well,  in the meantime,  this helps a little!

Impromptu Pot Cover...

I wanted to cover this ugly nursery pot in a hurry...

This is what I came up with...

I wrapped it with some cloth...
Clipped it with some old clothes pins...

Tied some twine around it

And covered the soil with some moss...

It looks a lot better!

This plant is not quite ready to bloom yet,
I will show it to you when it's ready...

Donor baby quilts...

These are 24" square,

so they are pretty quick to make!

I just love thier bright,  beautiful colors!

Groundhog Day...

Today is the big day...(Being a Pennsylvania girl...)

I wait all year to see if Punxsutawney Phil
will see his shadow on Groundhog Day...
Today he did not see his shadow...
That means that he predicts that
 Spring will come early this year!
Can't wait for that.
So far,  no major snow storms this winter...
Can we really get away with that?
It is 45 degrees here today
and the little bit of snow that we did have,
is gone...
Sure looks like Spring out there today!

We can only hope...
and keep an eye on Mother Nature!
