More dresses...

I made some more dresses...

I will bring them to the meeting next Wednesday.

This will be our last meeting for now.

We have to get these dresses shipped out, 

and then we will make more!

They are so pretty and the pictures 

do not do them justice!

I am sure the little girls of Africa or other 

foreign nations will be thrilled to receive them.

I am so honored to be involved in this worthy project.

Oh,  and I just found out, 

a lot of these dresses 

will be shared right here in the US,  also!

My sewing machine is sure getting a workout!  haha

They are silk,  but still bring a smile to my face when I look at them.

Maple Syrup Time...

I have a silver maple tree out behind my shed...

It gives me the most delicious maple syrup 

 (with a little work on my part).

I discovered this 3 years ago.

I was browsing the internet and found 

an article about making the syrup.

It said that you could tap trees 

other than sugar maples.

I didn't know that!

Some others are:  Sycamore,  Black Walnut, 

Birch, Norway Maple, and some others.

  

So I thought I'd give it a try.  

To my surprise,  it is delicious!  

So I am hooked! 

 I look forward to this every year now!  

This year has been pretty good,  so far.  

The temperatures have to be right 

and that doesn't always happen!

I got another pint and a half last night.

  

My BFF over at Our Cozy Abode , (Lady Jane)
sent me a label for my first batch of syrup.  
I lost that label,
 but I found that I could make 
these cute labels on the Avery site...

Now I make them for all the canning that I do...

Love that gold...

It's a lot of work and time invested, 
but I think it is well worth it. 
And I am retired,  so I have time!
  Plus,  it is fun and I enjoy it very much!

Dresses for little girls...

These are some of the dresses that I have been sewing...

Dresses for Africa...

Some look alike,  but they are all different dresses.

So,  I took these 12 to the meeting on Tuesday.

We have made 84 dresses,  so far!

What a productive group of ladies!

I love making these and 

getting to know my new friends!

First Day of Spring...

YAY!  

We finally made it to the First day of Spring!!!

Unfortunately, 

we are expecting another snow storm 

tomorrow and Thursday.

These pictures are of the last one 

that we had last Wednesday.  

This will be the fourth major snow storm 

that we have had in the last 3 weeks!

We got an official 24 inches last week!

I won't be gardening for a while yet! haha

  

March--

In like a lion and it could be out like a lion,  too!  

We'll just have to wait and see!

For this storm,  we are expecting 8 to 12 inches.  

Mother Nature must be really upset this year!

I'm saying a little prayer that it's not too bad...
